Kanniyakumari - the very southern tip of India. A pretty woman in orange bathes in the holy waters at the Tail of India, Kanniyakumari, as far south as you can go in India. The holy waters here are a huge pilgrimage site for Hindus. Bathing in these waters gains merit, especially during sunrise. |

Gandhi Mandapam, Kanniyakumari.
This site is designed so that the sun strikes the auspicious spot where the ashes of Mahatma Gandhi were laid, prior to their immersion in the sea, at noon on his birthday, October 2nd.
