From Jaipur, I traveled to the holy city of Pushkar.

I met a family of swordsmiths in Pushkar.

Pushkar is a charming town, with ornate doorways and lots of color.  This is a doorway to this gentleman's residence, one of many in the town.

In what is arguably the most colorful country in the world, Pushkar may just be the most colorful town.

Brahma Temple, Pushkar.

When I was there, I was told that it was likely the only Brahma temple in all of India.

However, a kind person from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad emailed me in September 2006 to let me know that there is another temple in India and that is in Goa, place called Nagargaon near Walpoi.  And sure enough, a web search turned up sites mentioning a Brahma Temple in the village of Brahma Carambolim in the Goa area, which apparently dates from 5 AD.

Also during my web search, I found mention of a murti of Brahmā at Mangalwedha, 52 km from Solapur district in Maharashtra and a temple for Brahma in the temple town of Kumbakonam, (Thanjavur District) Tamil Nadu, according to the Wikipedia web site.
