| We continued to travel northward along the coast, stopping for a very relaxing stay at the desert oasis of Huacachina, 5 km from Ica. This fantastic oasis is surrounded by towering sand dunes, which were fun to scramble up and tumble down. | |

| It took about 25 minutes of hard climbing to make it to the summit of this sand dune, overlooking the oasis. I'd take a step, and seemingly slide one step back down. However, the views from the top were more than worth it, as was the goofy fun from walking on the very crest of the sand dune. From herer, I enjoyed a sunset over the sand dunes before tumbling back down the dune towards the oasis. |  |
