The cemetery of Chauchilla, 30 km outside the town of Nazca. Although most everything of value has been pilfered by graverobbers, one can still see bones, skulls, mummies, and cloth dating back to the late Nazca period. The people of this time buried their nobles in large, deep pits in the desert. |
