We had never been to a Civil War reenactment. No one
we knew had.
Lisa found the
Battle of Dry Creek on the internet. We'd go there, and then to the
famous
Greenbrier five-star luxury resort to see firsthand the mysterious
Eisenhower-era bunker designed to safeguard Congress from nuclear attack.
Wow! But with West Virginia, there's always more. Another pilgrimage to Hillbilly Hot Dogs in Huntington, The Mystery Hole, a trip to Fayetteville and the New River Gorge bridge, and so much more. Wild, wonderful. And we have journalist extraordinaire Mary Wade Burnside to write about it in the Times West Virginian! And yes, we'd visit Lisa's family. Home, history, hot dogs, and harmony. Sound good? Follow the cannons!
