Local beachgoer on Hat Rin
Beach on Ko Phangan. Hat Rin is also home to the Full
Moon Parties, in which as many as 5,000 or more farangs
(Thai for foreigners) descend on the beach for all-night
partying to rave and techno. Even when the beach is not besieged by Full Moon partygoers, almost any evening will find bars and clubs aiming their monstrous speakers towards the water, techno, hip-hop, and pop music pulsing in a cacophonous melee of sound that is alternately fun and obnoxious. During the day, calmer sounds prevail. |
