Peru
I met a lot of very friendly,
interesting Peruvians during the trip. Whether it was funny or interesting
conversations, listening to musica folklorica at a pena in Lima, bargaining for mantas in
a bustling street market, horseback riding while exploring Inca ruins, dancing in clubs in
Barranco, discussing bizarre-looking store mannequins, or sharing dinner and a bowl of
sopa a la criolla in a restaurant, these people made the trip quite memorable. Virtually all the conversations were in Spanish, rather scary considering my feeble command of the language! However, we still managed to have interesting discussions and get our point across, sometimes with the occasional gesture or drawing on paper napkins. |
