This is the Tascam DR 60D, an on-camera recorder, showing the dominance of DSLRs being used as video cameras. |

This was probably the highlight of NAMM as far as gear goes. This is the Moog Sub 37 Tribute, the next generation Sub Phatty, and just a gorgeous, fat, complex, cool, fun to play analog synth, creating that amazing sound that only an analog synth can make. US$1400. Want. |
Moog Theremini, which has a lot of different sounds on board, not just "traditional" Theremin sounds. Really great sounding, and nice to see Moog getting back into Theremins. |
Arcane Music guitars. Gorgeous work. |

Tony and the beer scooter, on our way to check out the Hammond show at the Hilton. Dan (RedKey) hosted this really great party, very generous with his time and pizza and beer and munchies. Thank you, Dan! The Keyboard Corner people are very cool to hang out with, and this was my favorite part of this year's NAMM show. |
At the Hammond show, Keith Emerson made an appearance, playing a Charlie Parker tune. Gotta love the drummer with the Batman shirt and the choker. |

I got back to the hotel after midnight, the second time I've stayed at a hotel instead of driving back. The next morning, I wandered over to Pigtronix and checked out the Rototron, a rotary speaker simulator, which sounds phenomenal, and can get more "traditional" sounds all the way to really ethereal sorts of sounds. Very creative. Pigtronix creates fantastic, innovative, great sounding pedals, and for me, it's always a MUST to check 'em out. They're also super nice. |
Pigtronix Echolution 2 Deluxe. Pigtronix came out with the Echolution 2 and have discontinued my favorite (by far) analog delay pedal, the Echolution 1. Now they've done away with the rows of switches, replaced by buttons and knobs, which I don't like as much because I'm more into sound design, but I totally get it. Now, the Echolution has presets and far more control than before, and can be edited on computer via USB if one wishes. It still has that same beautiful, spacious, amazing delay, just a thing of beauty. |
Went up to the third floor to check out The Iron Maidens at Peavey. Good musicians. Cool women playing Maiden tunes...what's not to like? |
The Iron Maidens at Peavey, a really fun gig, playing before an enthusiastic audience. |
Met up with Mitch, and just after, saw Stevie Wonder at the Moog booth. |
Angelo of Fishbone playing the theremin. |
