21 June 2012 Thursday, continued: Lupine hugging the windblown cliffs of Goat Rock Beach, Sonoma Coast, as Adam, Jill, their kids, Lisa and I strolled along the cliff side (Curious George stayed at The Treehouse to rest, weary from playing with the two kids yesterday afternoon). |

 After returning from Goat Rock Beach, Lisa and I drove over to nearby Korbel Winery to catch the last tour. Korbel was founded in 1882 by two Czechoslovakian brothers named Korbel, one of whom was erroneously arrested and escaped from prison with the help of his mother. Korbel is one of the largest wineries in the United States. |

I "light painted" the trees by pointing my absurdly bright flashlight down at the wooden deck. Why? Because I didn't want the trees to be really white colored or overexposed by the bright flashlight, and pointing out down at the wooden deck created a much warmer light. The almost vertical streak near the middle is a shooting star. More info: Nikon D90, Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 lens. I'm pretty sure I was commissioned to create the new cover for "Houses of the Holy". Yes, I'm sure of it. Jimmy Page is my BFF. See?
Now, it may have been time to go the next morning, but that wouldn't stop me from taking a star trails photo, oh no. I set up my camera on a tripod on the main deck, with the camera looking almost straight up in the sky, right at the tops of the trees.
