Tibetan Uprising Day, 10 March 2010
Chinese Consulate, Los Angeles, CA

Tibetans and Tibetan human rights supporters gathered in front of the Chinese Consulate on 10 March 2010 to commemorate the 51st Anniversary of Tibetan Uprising Day on March 10th 1959 when the Chinese communist invaded Tibet illegally, occupying them ever since.

As China gains more economic power, they are less worried about human rights and basic freedom for its own people and to the Tibetans. Freedom loving people all around the world will join to voice their concern and share their support for Tibet and human rights in Tibet.

Some members of the Dharma Center showed up to lend their support to Tibetans in Tibet and anywhere, a greatly appreciated gesture.

People from all walks of Los Angeles showed their solidarity for Tibet.

Chog read the March 10 statements from the Dalai Lama to the crowd of supporters.

Tenzing emphasized that the Dalai Lama is not a separatist calling for an independent Tibet, but rather, wants to work with China to stop human rights abuses and increase Tibetan autonomy within their borders.
