Title: Fallen Wings |
Title: The Glowing Wizard Arturo The Black Light King had begun painting this before Pershing Square grew dark, and it was already quite a painting. But come night fall, he began adding paint that was sensitive to black light, a beautiful ultraviolet art that drew a lot of admiring onlookers as he painted continued to paint on through the night. |
Title: Ultra-Brite Smile I absolutely love the colors here on Donna. This was quite a challenging photo because the glow-in-the-dark paint was quite bright in contrast to her face. I wanted to keep the natural light, as with all these photos, so I just went with it since artificial light would have nullified the effect of the black light on her teeth and nose. |
Title: The Portrait (black and white) There's a classic look to this scene of a street artist painting a portrait of the man sitting to the left, so I went black and white with this photo. You can see what the photo looks like in color a little farther down. |
Title: The Money Tree (color) |
Title: Face Painting Dia de los Muertos came early to Los Angeles this year. I like the look of concentration in this intimate act as well as how the girl in particular is backlit. |
Title: A Woman Of Color As with other shots like ethis, I absolutely love the colors here on Donna. This was quite a challenging photo because the glow-in-the-dark paint was quite bright in contrast to her face. I wanted to keep the natural light, as with all these photos, so I just went with it since artificial light would have nullified the effect of the black light on her teeth and nose. |
Title: Enlightened Advocacy People were encouraged to write how they felt and what they were thinking of over screen projections. |
Title: Alien Spore

Title: The Money Tree (black and white) |
Title: The Illustrated Woman Preparing Donna for the light exhibit at Autumn Lights LA in Pershing Square. |
Title: The Seed |
Title: The Portrait (color) There's a classic look to this scene of a street artist painting a portrait of the man sitting to the left, so I went black and white with an above version of this photo, which accentuated this. But it also looks good in color, veering from the more classic timeless look of the black and white look. |
Title: Along Came A Spider How does this photo of a garden spider in a spiderweb fit into all this? It doesn't. I didn't know where else to put this. I took this in my backyard, lighting it with my Energizer headlamp and a light from my porch. Last fall and this fall, the spider has built this very large circular spiderweb between our citrus tree and our birdhouse. This was a very difficult photo to take because the web was continuously swaying, and of course, because it was very dark.
