Chinese New Year's Parade in Chinatown (downtown) in Los Angeles, 4 Feb 2006.

 


Hanging out atop the snow lion for a better view of the parade.

 


 

A black dragon zooms in to grab some lucky money, given to him in the requisite lucky red envelope.  If you look inside the mouth, you can see a man's hand, and to the right, a very faint, dark outline of the bottom half of his face.


A very young dragon in front of the historic Little Joe's restaurant, now closed.


Not everyone enjoys the din of a Chinese New Year's Parade....


...and hours later, after the parade is over, the Chinese chess players are still going at it.
