Bedrock City, Arizona, located on the way to the Grand Canyon.

This is a long exposure night photo. I use a tripod to keep the camera still, and then leave the shutter open for a long period of time. All the illumination and colored lights are done while the camera shutter is open. I illuminate the structure as well as the interior. This sort of long exposure photography is almost like a performance, and is extremely fun, and rather addicting to do. The streaks in the sky are the stars appearing to move. This is due to the rotation of the earth while the camera shutter is open.

Cathedral Rock, Sedona, illuminated in the setting sun.

Chapel of the Holy Cross at night, Sedona.

San Xavier Del Bac, Tucson. After eating a Navajo taco, I stayed for the sunset, and was amazed at how beautifully the setting sun illuminated the towers of San Xavier Del Bac.

San Xavier Del Bac, Tucson at night. It was a bit challenging to get everything exactly so in these photos of this church because of the yellow streetlights. It is much easier to let the moon do some of the illumination, and then illuminate the rest with my flashlight during the long exposure. Anyway, this was a beautiful, peaceful night.

After photographing the church, I drove to Tucson Mountain Park to take photos of the amazing Sonoran desertscape, with its towering saguaros. This is a long exposure night photo of the saguaros, which were illuminated while the camera shutter was open. The streaks of the clouds were caused by having the shutter open for a long period of time, showing their movement over time.
